What’s new in 2026.8.1
- Surround and ambisonic WAV export: bounce the mix or stems to 5.1, 7.1.4, or AmbiX (first-order, ACN/SN3D) alongside stereo. The export panel shows the exact channel order it writes.
- Spatialization: choose how mono and stereo layers fill a surround export. Off conforms only; Pure places them by routing alone, leaving the source untouched; Extended adds frequency-dependent width and a decorrelated halo. Multichannel sources always conform by role.
- Multichannel sources are read correctly: per-file channel layout detection (quad, 5.0, LCR, 5.1, 7.1, 7.1.4, ambisonic), a Channel order setting for files that carry no channel map, and a per-file or per-palette override where detection cannot resolve one.
- Multi-mono sets recognised: Rain.L / Rain.R / Rain.C and the like are grouped as a single source, so two channels of the same recording are never laid up as separate layers.
- AAF now passes through any source channel count, with proper immersive channel names.
- Loudness normalisation on export: bounce the mix at -14, -16, -18, or -23 LUFS, measured to broadcast standard.
- Many fixes and polish: click-free transport, pitch variation on Fills, correct pitch in exported AAF, and assorted stability fixes.
