Changelog

2026.9 — 2026-09-04

  • Unbounce: drop an AAF back from Pro Tools and your session comes back. Sounds made here reopen as the events that built them, layers and all. Every export now leaves its own record beside it, so a file is recognised even on a machine that has never seen the project.
  • Custom Bus and Track layouts. Automatically fold to match your session layout. Import track layout from Pro Tools.
  • Preview the conformed delivery before export.
  • The Panner: per-event surround panner. Place an event – or forty at once – by hand, no automation.
  • Picture stays in sync. Long-session drift is gone, and Settings now shows the real playback rate and buffer size alongside a Video Sync Offset.
  • Sound analysis rebuilt, so matching is more accurate and musical scale is now true in the bass. Short sources can extend to fill their events instead of rendering a blip. Every library re-analyses once, automatically.
  • DNxHD and DNxHR play on the Mac through a built-in decoder.
  • Many fixes and polish: export improvements, tracks pack tighter, and assorted stability fixes.

      • Placement: one control on the Mixer – Direct, Spread, or Diffuse – shared by the monitor and the export.
      • Monitor in 5.1 or 7.1.4 on real speakers, or binaurally on headphones. Output routing per speaker role.
      • First-order ambisonic sources decode to their real spatial field.
      • Export Variations: render a set of fresh takes as numbered files, ready for Wwise or FMOD.
      • UCS naming for recipes and exports, with description, keywords, and category embedded in every take.
      • Library indexing reads iXML and expands UCS synonyms, so more of what you own is findable.
      • Trace: one waterline sets how much of the read you keep; markers snap to the transient.
      • Sharper attacks on layered impacts, offline renders matching the live mixer, and assorted fixes.

      2026.8.1 — 2026-07-26

      • Surround and ambisonic WAV export: bounce the mix or stems to 5.1, 7.1.4, or AmbiX (first-order, ACN/SN3D) alongside stereo. The export panel shows the exact channel order it writes.
      • Spatialization: choose how mono and stereo layers fill a surround export. Off conforms only; Pure places them by routing alone, leaving the source untouched; Extended adds frequency-dependent width and a decorrelated halo. Multichannel sources always conform by role.
      • Multichannel sources are read correctly: per-file channel layout detection (quad, 5.0, LCR, 5.1, 7.1, 7.1.4, ambisonic), a Channel order setting for files that carry no channel map, and a per-file or per-palette override where detection cannot resolve one.
      • Multi-mono sets recognised: Rain.L / Rain.R / Rain.C and the like are grouped as a single source, so two channels of the same recording are never laid up as separate layers.
      • AAF now passes through any source channel count, with proper immersive channel names.
      • Loudness normalisation on export: bounce the mix at -14, -16, -18, or -23 LUFS, measured to broadcast standard.
      • Many fixes and polish: click-free transport, pitch variation on Fills, correct pitch in exported AAF, and assorted stability fixes.

      macOS (10.4 MB)Windows (11.7 MB)

      2026.8 — 2026-07-22

      • Now on Windows – a native Windows build alongside macOS.
      • Bed: a new event shape for fixed background material. Drop your own files, set per-layer looping, and it conforms to a scene via the Fill engine.
      • Bounce to Clip: freeze any selection – even overlapping events across tracks – into one audio clip, in place. Revert to Source turns it back into the original events at any time.
      • Scene backgrounds reworked: a unified chooser to set a Fill (library-driven) or Bed (your own files) background per scene, multiple layered backgrounds, and drag audio straight onto a scene.
      • Mixer fader levels (FX A, FX B, BG, Ref, Master) now save with each project; a new project starts at unity.
      • File relinking: moved or renamed source files heal automatically by content, and anything truly missing is surfaced in the Library.
      • Master WAV export now includes reverb when it is on – a faithful print of what you hear. Cleaner export folders (a single mixdown no longer creates a wrapper folder), project-based file naming, and the AAF is named after the project.
      • DAW-style clip fade editing with smooth, anti-aliased fades.
      • Many fixes and polish: consistent background levels right up to the scene boundary, more reliable settings persistence on quit, and assorted stability and crash fixes.

      2026.7 — 2026-07-06

      • First public release.
      • Meta-DAW for film sound design: specify intent – spectral weight, intensity, keywords, picture-derived timing – and it assembles layered, frame-accurate sound from your own library.
      • Four event shapes: Spot, Bloom, Contour, Fill.
      • Deterministic engine – no ML, no dataset, no bundled sounds. Every sample is your own, untouched.
      • Deconfliction: automatic timing, spectral, and density separation across a busy timeline, steered by hero priority.
      • Trace: reads light and motion from video, or imports Pro Tools markers, for fast event placement.
      • 32-bit float internal, 24-bit BWF export. Algorithmic (FDN) reverb, exportable as a wet stem.
      • AAF export (handles, clip gain, automation, markers, bus-based track layout) and WAV stems for Pro Tools, Nuendo, or any AAF-compatible DAW.
      • Self-hosted licensing: online or offline activation, two machines, perpetual. Runs fully offline.
